They serve as essential documentation to be able to carry out a detailed control of the patient’s evolution. We save these pictures so that the patient can see the difference between his previous alopecia and the final result.

Design of the receptor and donor area

In order to easily obtain the necessary follicular units it is necessary to have the donor area cleared, therefore, we shave the back and side hair areas.

Then, we draw the receptor area, dividing it into different areas that range from the frontal zone (first line of implantation), anterior middle, back side and vertex. Afterwards, we draw the boundaries of the donor area.

A good design is essential for the success of the intervention.

    Extraction of follicular units

The follicular units can be formed by one, two, three or more hairs, depending on the donor area of the patient. Our doctors remove the follicular units from areas not affected by alopecia so that the hair transplant lasts a lif

For the extraction we use millimeter instruments called “punch”, which has the function of a cylindrical micro scalpel with a range of 0.75 to 0.90 mm in diameter. Depending on the diameter of each patient’s hair we will use one or the other. After using the punch, the follicular units are removed from the scalp with special tweezers.

    Grafts preparation

The hair micrografts obtained are deposited in special boxes that have cold plates to maintain the ideal temperature for their survival.

Our operating room technicians separate the different follicular units according to the number of follicles they have and immerse them in a saline solution for proper conservation..

    A break

After extraction, we take a break of 20-30 minutes. The patient has an exclusive waiting room with own bathroom, television, magazines and pintxos provided by one of the best gastronomic establishments in the area.

    The implantation of follicular units

It is the second phase of hair transplant, using the FUE Technique. Operating room attendants place the follicular units in devices called “implanters” and the doctor uses them to implant the extracted follicles one by one, providing them with the direction of growth and angle of inclination necessary to obtain a natural result.

    Washing and supervision

We wash the head and explain to the patient how to do it during the next few days, because it is essential to perform daily washings and keep the donor area, as receptor area, as clean as possible.

In addition, the second photographs of the day are taken to compare the change that surgery has meant and and to check the new design that will mark your future image.

    Postoperative details

Once the surgery is finished, the steps and care to be followed during the following days after surgery are explained and given to the patient in writing. Complying with these indications is essential to preserve the survival of the follicles.

Likewise, all the necessary indications for the care, evolution and growth of the transplant, the washing of the hair and prescription medication are given to him in writing.

    Subsequent visits

Finally, to control and supervise the development of the postoperative period and the evolution of the result of the capillary micrograft, we establish a schedule of visits.

The next appointment will be at 12-14 days.

From there, a control visit will be made one month after the surgery, five months and ten months. Photographs will also be taken to analyze the evolution of the patient.
